Great tut but you missed one key point. Before placing image make sure that the you click the black mask ensuring that the orange square line is around it. Otherwise when you place the image it will appear on top of the object and not within the mask itself.

Thank you. I have been learning as much as possible about Illustrator in the last week, and you did a very clear, quick, effective and concise tutorial. You got to the point and explained it quick but thoroughly.

    Great video, super useful.
How would I go about creating the same effect, but without a background? In other words, if the logo image itself was blue and had a texture.
    Thanks!

Great tutorial there. Was clear and easy to understand, taught me a lot.

I’m wondering how people complain about the volume here, I’ve had no problems hearing him and I’m on half volume only. He does speak in a soft manner, but it hardly gets in the way of how useful this is.

    Overall, great job!

I really want to watch this, but I can’t hear you! :S The volume is at its top but still… It seems like a good tutorial, so thanks anyway 🙂

great video! Is there a way to expand and create a vector object with the texture that I can import into flash? For example if I want a paper cutout effect in a vector object… thanks!
