question I dont have a recovery slider in my version of light room 4… and my temp is not in the 5000 number but maxes at +5.00 as you can tell I am new to light room. I understand what your saying but i am having and issue with to much yellow in the skin and cant seem to find the balance to pull it out .., as my subject is the same color as the girl in the blue dress not sure how to counter act the yellowing in the skin if anyone on this thread has a suggestion I would definitely listen !!

Hi there, do you know “photo SFX art” (do a Google search for it)? There you will find a good free video demonstrating the best way to shoot incredible pictures. This made it easier for Daniel to shoot pictures which leave you with that jaw-dropping-effect whenever you look at them. I hope it works for you also.
The third image looked better before I think the second is too dim and green…this is really neat though.
Just found your YouTube channel and have watched a few tutorials. This is very useful information; very clear and concise. Thank you for taking the time to put these tutorials together and share them. I’m still learning LR and am very excited to continue watching these. Great work! Thanks again for sharing. Cheers!

Hey, do you know “Photo SFXart Tricks” (just do a Google search for it…)? There you will find a good free video demonstrating the way to create incredible photos. It made it easier for Matt to create photos that have a wow-effect whenever you look at them. I hope it will help you as well…
RAW, look at the file extension. CR2, Canon’s RAW format…..
Are you editing the RAW file or JPEG?
You’re using Lightroom 4. He is using Lightroom 3 in the video. In Lightroom 4, they now have Highlights (which does a better job at adjusting only the highlights instead of the overall “recovery”) and Shadows (which does a better job at adjusting only the shadows instead of the overall black or “Fill Light”)
I have controls for Exposure but not “Recovery,” “Fill Light” and “Blacks” right beneath. It goes straight from Exposure to Contrast. What’s up with my Lightroom? Is it a preferences thing?
